What is a Fat Transfer?
Fat injection, also known as fat grafting or fat injections, is a versatile cosmetic treatment which uses liposuction to extract fat cells from an area of your body, which will later be used to enhance one of your other features. Fat injection treatment has a number of uses, including:

What are the Benefits of Fat Grafting?
Fat grafting is beneficial because it utilizes your own tissue and is permanent. It has also been shown to rejuvenate and improve the appearance of overlying skin. Fat grafting is permanent and therefore does not require frequent injections such as Juvederm or Restylane. Finally, fat injection treatment is able to produce the most natural look and feel, because the fat is naturally occurring and soft.
The Fat Injection Procedure
Fat injection can be performed under local conscious sedation as an outpatient procedure, meaning you will be able to return home on the same day as your treatment. The procedure can last anywhere from one to three hours, depending on the area that is being treated. During fat injection, Dr. Berardi will perform liposuction on your hips, abdomen, buttocks or thighs to harvest fat cells to be injected. The liposuction site is closed with sutures and then the fat cells are purified and re-injected into the area that is being enhanced. Dr. Berardi will carefully inject the fat cells, sculpting the area of concern.
